The image below is the score card awarded by the Human Rights Campaign to my elected Federal officials. It’s also an example of what’s wrong with politics today: extreme polarization.
I find it difficult to believe that Sens. Johnny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss can’t find a single issue to support regarding the civil rights of gay men like me. If it has the words gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender in the bill, they are voting no.
I’m not shocked to see this. I’ve understood their position for years. My two senators will vote with the Republican Party 100 percent of the time.
But it would be nice to see them think independently at least once.
